Deadheading at daybreak

Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. We will teach you how to deadhead spent blooms from the rosebushes and how tidying up the garden encourages repeat blooming of the roses in the Historic Rose Garden.

If possible bring your own gloves and tools, but we will also provide tools if you need them. Light refreshments of coffee and pastries will be served. Late risers welcome!

The cemetery is located at 1000 Broadway, Sacramento. There is free parking on surrounding streets. For more information, call 916-448-0811.

Join volunteers at the Historic City Cemetery’s Rose Garden for deadheading at dusk. We will be removing spent blooms from the many rosebushes and tidying up the garden which encourages repeat blooming of the roses in the garden. Tools and training will be provided, and light refreshments will be served. Saturday, April 29, 2017, 10:00 a.m. Come join a one hour guided tour of the Hamilton Square Garden in the beautiful Historic City Cemetery. With 800 plus unusual Mediterranean perennial plants the garden has drought tolerant color all year long. Meet at the tenth street gate.
