Free flu shots from Kaiser Permanente this Saturday at Florin Towne Center

Kaiser Permanente’s retail health insurance outlet, Shop KP, will be offering flu vaccination, at no cost, Saturday at its Florin Towne Center location in Sacramento.

The doses are for non-members and members of Kaiser Permanente who are ages 18 and older. The free flu shots will be available beginning at 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., while supplies last.

The flu is more serious than most people think, and everyone is at risk. One of the best ways to prevent getting the flu and avoid spreading it to others is to get vaccinated.

Elk Grove Night at the Kings!

Elk Grove Night at the Kings!

The Sacramento Kings have partnered with the City of Elk Grove for 1 of only 2 City nights at the Arena this season!!  Come show your City pride as the Kings take on the Houston Rockets on this nationally televised game on Friday, November 6th.  Tickets start as low as just $21 and 20% of every ticket sold will benefit the Elk Grove Food Bank Services.  With more than 4,000 residents relying on the help of the Food Bank monthly, these funds will go towards a great cause.

Mayor Gary Davis will be on-site to give out the key to the City to retired NFL player and Elk Grove High School alumni Lance Briggs, there will be special give-aways from the City, Elk Grove services on the concourse and so much more.  Bling out a homemade sign and you could be chosen for a seat upgrade!  Most importantly, bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Elk Grove Food Bank and you could also win an upgraded seat.

Elk Grove Neighborhood Summit Participants Hear, Discuss Different Services in Elk Grove

Before a standing-room-only audience, The City of Elk Grove conducted its second annual neighborhood summit last week.
Held in the City Council chambers at Elk Grove City Hall, the meeting was emceed by Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis with Council Member Steve Detrick and Planning Commissioner Kevin Spease also in attendance. In his opening statement, Davis praised the large audience for their interest in participating in the meeting.
"Thank you all for being here tonight," Davis said. "The fact that you are willing to come here, speak volumes about who you are as a community leaders."
Following Davis' comments, the participants heard presentations on the city's general plan, water conservation and the drought, storm preparedness, public safety, problem-oriented policing, and code enforcement. Participants rate their neighborhoods in several differentcategories at Wednesday night's Neighborhood Summit. ...
