As a part of the 47th annual Earth Day, a new piece of public art will be unveiled this Friday in Elk Grove.

The piece, a metal sculpture created by noted artist Gina Rossi that uses recycled material called Carl the Cart, will be formally presented at the City of Elk Grove's Special Waste Collection Center.

To help raise awareness of the plight facing recent American combat veterans, a screening of the documentary movie PROJECT 22 will be held this Thursday in Elk Grove. 

A non-profit documentary, PROJECT 22, co-directed by combat veterans, responsibly explores challenges warriors encounter and serves as a catalog of hope that will benefit veterans, families and anyone who has dealt with trauma, loss or depression. The Cosumnes Community Services District is inviting residents to celebrate spring with your friends and family at the annual Spring 'EGG' stravaganza on Saturday, March 26 in Elk Grove Regional Park.

The free activities include appearances from the Easter Bunny and lots of springtime interactive FUN! Activities with a fee include face painting, pony rides, petting zoo, inflatable attractions, carnival games and the “egg scramble.” Tickets will be sold at the event for $.50 each.
