Community Business Bank Names Finalists for $10,000 Giveaway

Community Business Bank is celebrating its 10th anniversary by giving away $10,000 to a deserving regional not-for-profit. In September, community members were asked to submit entries by email or on the Bank’s Facebook and Twitter social media pages explaining why their favorite not-for-profit deserves $10,000.

“We are grateful for the overwhelming response to our call for outstanding non-profits in our community,” said John DiMichele, CEO, Community Business Bank. “More than 450 people nominated a total of 58 not-for-profits making it a tough decision to narrow the list down to just five finalists. In fact, we created a final list of the top six not-for-profits now in the running for $10,000.”

The top six non-profits selected as finalists include:

  • CCHAT Center: The Children’s Choice for Hearing and Talking (CCHAT) is a non-profit school dedicated to teaching children with hearing loss to listen and talk. (www.cchatsacramento.org)
  • Heart 2 Heart: A non-profit serving former foster and at-risk young adults in Solano County by providing food, clothing, guidance, holiday and birthday gifts (www.heart2heartsolanocounty.com)
  • It Takes Guts: A non-profit supporting research and treatment for rare childhood autoimmune diseases (www.it-takes-guts.org)
  • Kids Helping Kids Sacramento: A non-profit run by junior and senior high school students to help children locally and around the world (www.kidshelpingkidssac.org)
  • The Lodi House: A shelter for homeless women and children teaching life skills and providing guidance for a brighter future (www.lodihouse.org)
  • Yolo County Children’s Alliance: A non-profit addressing a number of concerns that impact children and their families such as access to quality pediatric health care, childhood obesity, neglect and abuse (www.yolokids.org)

Votes can be placed at www.communitybizbank.com/CBB10for10.htm through Oct. 30, 2015. The winner of the $10,000 will be announced on Nov. 2, 2015. In addition, Community Business Bank will recognize the good work being done by all other 52 nominees by gifting $10 to each for every nomination they received up to $350.
