Free flu vaccinations for the community with Sacramento Kings star player Rudy Gay

With influenza season still upon us, it’s not too late to protect yourself from catching the flu. So take a shot with the Kings.

Kaiser Permanente is teaming up with the Sacramento Kings to offer the best defense against the flu – vaccination – at a special event Tuesday, February 24 from 3 to 5 p.m. featuring small forward Rudy Gay, Slamson and the Sacramento Kings dancers. Kaiser Permanente doctors are the team physicians of the Sacramento Kings.

Free flu shots will be available to the community at Kaiser Permanente Point West Medical Offices, 1650 Response Road, Sacramento, 95815 (across Exposition Boulevard from Cal Expo). Gay will sign autographs for the first 150 fans from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Parking will be on-site and free.

Anyone in need of a flu shot is encouraged to attend the event, which is open to nonmembers and members of Kaiser Permanente.

Laguna Sunrise Rotary Club Helps Elk Grove Food Bank

Laguna Sunrise Rotary Club Helps Elk Grove Food Bank

Saturday members of the Laguna Sunrise Rotary club, and their families, helped sort food at the Elk Grove Food Bank Services. As donations arrived, some LSRC members sorted canned goods onto their appropriate shelves. Others checked expiration dates, filled and loaded boxes for future pickups.

The Rotary idea of friendship, fellowship, and service to others has spread to six continents. The name "Rotary" was chosen because the Club met in rotation at each member's place of business.

The Elk Grove Food Bank Services (EGFBS) provides meals to over 4500 clients per month. Over the past 40 years, EGFBS has distributed an estimated 4,543,000 meals. Their Emergency Food Distribution program provides a three-day food supply to families and individuals.  They are always looking for assistance:  Time, Money or Food. Ask how YOU can help.
