Sac Self-Help Housing receives $10,000 grant to kick-start reimbursement Revolving Fund

Dedicated to the elimination of homelessness based on the “housing first” model, Sacramento Self-Help Housing has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Century Housing. With a goal to raise $300,000 in charitable grant funding, Sacramento Self-Help Housing will use this grant to start an internal revolving fund that will allow for prompt payment of housing lease and service costs eligible for later reimbursement by public and private agencies.

Founded in 2000, Sacramento Self-Help Housing assists local homeless individuals and families – or those at risk of becoming homeless – to find and retain stable, affordable and permanent housing. In 2015 alone, Sacramento Self-Help Housing served 12,578 deserving individuals through their various housing programs.

7 self-awareness questions to aid student success

7 self-awareness questions to aid student success

With the 2016-2017 school year upon us, preparing our students to start off strong is a necessity that must not be overlooked. School supplies and school clothes are definitely great but if we neglect to help our students become more self-aware, we'll be making a tragic mistake. As the father of a 1st grader, 8th grader and 9th grader, I desire for my children to be successful. As the oldest of 7 brothers and sisters, I want my younger siblings to be successful. As a #StudentSuccessCoach of 15 years, it is a need for me to see our students start this year off with more confidence than ever before and be extremely successful.
