 The Elk Grove Volunteers in Police Service donates $2,000 to Raley’s Food for Families

The Elk Grove Volunteers in Police Service presented Raley’s Food for Families with a check for $2,000. Raley’s will then donate $4,000 in food to Elk Grove Food Bank Services. Raley's Food For Families holiday bag program doubles charitable giving by offering a $10 bag of wholesome, nonperishable and fresh food valued at more than $20 to benefit local food banks now through December 31st.

ELK GROVE, CA – Local families the Lou-Dizon's and Rodriguez’s have collaborated in revitalizing our Old Town Franklin Community with their new enrichment program for kids.

The afterschool program supports children’s school work while giving kids an experience distinct from the school day. The program includes tutoring services, skill-building educational activities, and interaction with kids in their local community aside from school.    

The program is to implement the youth with opportunities to thrive in all areas of their lives.

•           Leadership teaches students to make careful and safe choices;

•           Education serves as the tool to make and pursue dreams;

•           Athletics, arts and other cultural experiences bring meaning and confidence into life.

Registration opens for Men’s and Co-ed Adult Soccer Leagues

The Cosumnes Community Services District’s Men’s and Co-ed Adult Soccer League offers fun, exercise and competition.  Regular registration for the league will be from December 9, 2013 through January 5, 2014.

Men’s division league will play on Thursdays, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.; and co-ed for 30+ men and 25+ women will play on Fridays between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.  The $950 registration fee guarantees each team seven games at Bartholomew Sports Park, on synthetic turf, beginning January 16, 2014.  Late registration will be accepted, if space is available, for $970 per team.    Teams must pre-register by mail or in person at any one of two locations:
