Save Mart Supermarkets has committed to raising more than $400,000 this year to help increase awareness and foster education about the risks of heart disease, the nation’s leading cause of death among women. The year-long project is a collaboration with the American Heart Association (AHA) and its Go Red For Women movement and is unprecedented for the Modesto-based grocery chain.

The new Elk Grove Walmart Neighborhood Market, located at 8455 Elk Grove Blvd., will make a $1,000 donation to Elk Grove High School during a brief check-presentation ceremony Friday, Jan. 11. The presentation will be held at Elk Grove High School prior to the start of the boy’s basketball game. Walmart is proud to support the community and youth athletics.
