Sacramento Wedding Industry to Honor Leaders

Sacramento Wedding Industry to Honor Leaders

If any group knows how to throw a party, it's wedding professionals!  Tuesday, April 7, 2015, the Sacramento Association for Wedding Professionals will hold it's 15th Annual Awards Gala - "Fire & Ice" - at Arden Hills.  This event celebrates the members of the wedding industry and recognizes its leaders.

The Professional of the Year, Associate of the Year and Mixers of the Year (1st, 2nd and 3rd places) are selected by the membership of the association through a ballot system.  No social media campaigns nor any solicited votes are included in these elections.  Merit is the deciding factor. Other awards, selected by the association leadership include the President's Award, Volunteer of the Year, Team Spirit and Distinguished Service.

I am sure you have heard the phrase: “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”   To build this important network of contacts, you have to get out and start networking to build new business relationships or to cultivate the ones you already may have.  It’s imperative; after you meet someone, connect on LinkedIn, email and/or phone call to follow up. In this chapter of Get Back to Work, I share some even more helpful tips and strategies to make networking work for you to find your next job opportunity.

Elk Grove Subaru donates nearly $10,000 to local animal welfare organization

Today, Elk Grove Subaru in partnership with Subaru of America presented the Sacramento SPCA with a check for $9,333.10 at its dealership located at 8581 Laguna Grove Drive. The money was raised during Subaru’s fifth annual “Share the Love” event held late last year.

“Share the Love” is an annual initiative allowing customers who purchase or lease a new Subaru to decide which charities would receive a donation from the company.

The list of charities included the ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels, the National Park Foundation, and Teach for America. As part of the program, individual Subaru retailers were allowed to add a sixth charity to the mix. Elk Grove Subaru, of the Lasher Auto Group, chose the Sacramento SPCA.
